The Real Independence of India is yet to be Achieved

Today we are celebrating 65 years of independence, still some of us don't know the real meaning of freedom. For many of us, independence day is a one day affair restricted to waking up late in the morning, flag hosting, enjoying the sips of chai with family and friends, and discussing the growth of India over these years on dinner table. We are " Proud to be an Indian" on this day only, rest of the year we are Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christian or Punjabi, Marathi, Gujrati, Bihari and so on.

The issues of poverty, illiteracy, women exploitation, caste-ism  and polluted environment  prevailing in our society make our freedom incomplete.  Many of those opposing child labor have a chhotu at home as a house helper. Many of us who talk about women development dream to get their sisters and daughters married the day they complete 18 years of their age, no matter what are their ambitions. And Clean and Green Delhi is just a slogan to be said, as we don't mind littering on roads to keep our cars clean. And we proud Indians won't miss a chance to get a highly paid job in US, Australia or Europe.

The time has come when the young generation should actively participate to break all those shackles which hinder in the growth,  development and credibility of the individuals and the nation as a whole. And as it is said charity begins it home, the same way the war for real independence begins at home. We have always fought against foreign forces hand in hand and have succeeded in protecting our Mother Land. Now the time has come when we should fight unitedly for ourselves, against ourselves to achieve an incredibly independent nation.

"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." So let's take our single step, soon we'll reach our destination.
